Joomla! StatsCleaner

Joomla! StatsCleaner I don't know about you, but when I'm developing a Joomla! website (or any website for that matter) I test everything very thoroughly. I click on every link, I check every page numerous times, I click on the banners and I vote on the polls. And of course the client usually wants to test the site too. So, most of the times, when the site is ready to launch, Joomla! has already counted lots of page impressions for every content item, collected lots of statistical data like browser and operating system, banner impressions and clicks, poll votes etc. ...

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just click one button right before the site officially launches and reset EVERYTHING back to zero? That way you could really see how well the site is received, what items are of most interest, what files are being downloaded the most etc.

Well, that's exactly what "Joomla! StatsCleaner" does. And a bit more:

In addition to just reseting the regular Joomla! stats (even those that can't be reset AT ALL by any other means) "Joomla! StatsCleaner" can also reset statistical and other unwanted data that Joomla! extensions collect, e.g. comments made into a comment component like "Annotation" or "AkoComment" for testing purposes or the download counter of a document manager like DOCMan.

"Joomla! StatsCleaner" is easily extendable, so if you're using a Joomla! extension that collects stats or any other data that should be reset right before site launch and you would like "Joomla! StatsCleaner" to deal with it just drop me a line (preferably with a link to that extension) and I will try to implement it right away.

Joomla! StatsCleaner is able to reset these Joomla! statistics:

Reset the Page Impressions (Hit Count) of ALL Content Items
Reset the Browser and Visitor related Statistics (Browser, OS, Domain)
Reset the "Content Hits by Date" log
Reset the Search Text log (the search strings entered)
Reset the Banner Impressions Count of ALL Banners of your site
Reset the Banner Clicks Count of ALL Banners of your site
Reset the Poll Votes of all Polls of your site
Reset the Weblinks Clicks Count of ALL Weblinks of your site

Joomla! StatsCleaner is able to reset statistics (and other potentially unwanted data) of the following extensions:

Automatic detection of supported extensions
Remove all entries from AkoBook guestbook
Remove all comments from AkoComment component
Remove all comments from Annotation component
Reset the download counter and download logs for all DOCMan documents
Reset all records of Facile Forms
Remove all comments from AkoComment component
Reset the Letterman hit counter for all newsletters
Remove all comments from MosCom component
Reset the download counter and remove all votes and comments from ReMOSitory

INSTALLATION:

Upload the file "JoomlaStatsCleaner.php" into the root folder of your Joomla! installation. Easy, eh?

USAGE:

Login to your Joomla! site as Administrator or Super Administrator
Start Joomla! StatsCleaner by entering this URL: "http://<yoursitehere>/JoomlaStatsCleaner.php"
Choose what statistics you want to reset
Click the "Reset Statistics" button

Don't forget to delete the "JoomlaStatsCleaner.php" file after usage for security reasons.
